Embark on a rewarding assignment supporting elementary students’ communication and language development in a vibrant educational setting. We’re seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to work with students primarily in grades 2 and 3 (ages 7-8) for a contract position beginning August 25 and ending June 3, 2027. With a manageable caseload of 28-30 students, you’ll be part of a passionate team dedicated to student growth.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Hold current SLPA credentials and have school-based experience, especially with primary grades
  • Dynamic, engaging personality with a collaborative approach and a commitment to reliability
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, fostering productive partnerships with staff, students, and families
  • Proficient in implementing speech-language therapy plans in person; teletherapy is not preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct therapy services to assigned caseload under supervision of a licensed SLP, utilizing evidence-based practices
  • Document and report progress, maintaining clear communication with supervising SLPs and educational staff
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to support students’ individualized communication goals
  • Contribute to IEP meetings by supplying observational data and progress updates as required

Position Details:

  • Contract runs from late August 2024 through early June 2027
  • Full-time, up to 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
  • Work hours: 7:15 AM – 3:15 PM at Altoona Elementary School
  • Start with staff: August 25; student services begin September 1
