Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Valid SLPA license or eligibility to obtain in Virginia
- Completion of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program
- Previous experience in a school-based setting is a plus, but not required
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Passion for working with children and supporting diverse learning needs
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Team-oriented mindset and eagerness to collaborate with SLPs, teachers, and families
Responsibilities:
- Assist the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist in delivering therapy services to students
- Implement individualized therapy plans targeting speech, language, and communication goals
- Prepare materials and activities that support students’ progress and engagement
- Track and document student performance and session data accurately
- Participate in team meetings, parent communications, and professional development as needed
- Adapt activities to meet the varying needs of your caseload
