Step into a dynamic, collaborative high school environment near Essex Junction and Shelburne, VT, where your expertise as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) will make a meaningful difference for students with a variety of support needs. This in-person, contract position offers an engaging blend of direct 1:1 and small-group interventions, as well as push-in and pull-out services, supporting students across the spectrum from mild to severe communication challenges.

This role runs from August 21, 2026, through June 14, 2027, with a work schedule of 7.5 hours per day, Monday through Friday. You will be working at the high school level, collaborating closely with a dedicated educational team dedicated to student growth and success. Compensation for this role ranges from $42 to $55 per hour, depending on experience.

Qualifications & Experience Sought:

  • Completion of a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) program; SLP-A certification or a background in communication sciences strongly preferred
  • Prior experience working in a school-based or healthcare SLPA setting
  • Confidence engaging with students presenting mild to severe communication and language support needs
  • Comfort and proficiency with both small group and individual therapy, as well as integrating “push in” and “pull out” services
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to partner with students, staff, and families

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver speech-language therapy to high school students in accordance with IEP goals
  • Provide services both individually and in small groups; balance push-in and pull-out models
  • Collaborate with educational staff and speech-language pathologists to plan and implement therapy strategies
  • Track student progress and support documentation in compliance with school requirements
