Qualifications and Experience:
- Associate’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or equivalent coursework required
- Active SLPA license or eligibility to obtain in Washington
- Previous experience working in educational settings with children or adolescents preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including speech pathologists, teachers, and families
- Flexible, reliable, and adept at building positive relationships with students
Responsibilities:
- Implement therapy sessions based on IEP goals and plans developed by an SLP
- Assist students with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) under supervision
- Collect and document data on student progress during therapy activities
- Provide support for SLPs by preparing therapy materials and organizing sessions
- Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and effective learning atmosphere
- Maintain detailed and confidential records as required by school and state guidelines
