Qualifications and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or equivalent coursework required
  • Active SLPA license or eligibility to obtain in Washington
  • Previous experience working in educational settings with children or adolescents preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including speech pathologists, teachers, and families
  • Flexible, reliable, and adept at building positive relationships with students

Responsibilities:

  • Implement therapy sessions based on IEP goals and plans developed by an SLP
  • Assist students with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) under supervision
  • Collect and document data on student progress during therapy activities
  • Provide support for SLPs by preparing therapy materials and organizing sessions
  • Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and effective learning atmosphere
  • Maintain detailed and confidential records as required by school and state guidelines
