As a skilled SLPA, you’ll work directly with students from either elementary or middle school, depending on the assignment. You’ll benefit from dedicated supervision and have the chance to make a significant impact on a manageable caseload, typically around 55 students.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Active SLPA licensure required (Virginia state or eligible)
  • Previous experience in a school environment is preferred, but open to new graduates with strong clinical backgrounds
  • Demonstrated knowledge of speech and language development in children and adolescents
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with supervising SLPs, staff, and families

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Implement individualized speech and language therapy programs under the direction of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Deliver sessions one-on-one or in small groups, adapting activities as needed for each student’s abilities
  • Collect data and track student progress towards IEP goals
  • Assist with documentation, progress reporting, and communication with teaching staff and families
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive, collaborative learning environment
