Ideal qualifications and experience include:

  • Current licensure or eligibility as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in California
  • Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred
  • Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and therapy documentation
  • Proficiency supporting speech-language therapy under the supervision of a licensed SLP
  • Experience in either school or healthcare environments
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Passion for fostering student success

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver speech and language interventions to students based on established plans
  • Assist in screening and assessment procedures under the guidance of a supervising SLP
  • Provide one-on-one and small group therapy sessions in accordance with students’ IEPs
  • Monitor, document, and report student progress and session outcomes
  • Help prepare materials, resources, and schedules for therapy activities
  • Communicate student needs and progress with educators and families
  • Uphold confidentiality and compliance with school and state protocols
