Ideal qualifications and experience include:
- Current licensure or eligibility as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in California
- Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred
- Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and therapy documentation
- Proficiency supporting speech-language therapy under the supervision of a licensed SLP
- Experience in either school or healthcare environments
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Passion for fostering student success
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language interventions to students based on established plans
- Assist in screening and assessment procedures under the guidance of a supervising SLP
- Provide one-on-one and small group therapy sessions in accordance with students’ IEPs
- Monitor, document, and report student progress and session outcomes
- Help prepare materials, resources, and schedules for therapy activities
- Communicate student needs and progress with educators and families
- Uphold confidentiality and compliance with school and state protocols
