A full-time contract opportunity is available for a skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA). This position involves working in-person across two elementary schools and one middle school, located conveniently near Hayward, CA. With a schedule likely running from 7:45 am to 3:45 pm, you’ll make a meaningful impact throughout the full school year, starting as soon as possible.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active, valid SLPA license required
- Previous experience working within a school setting highly preferred
- Strong ability to collaborate with supervising SLPs, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with students, staff, and families
- Adaptability to serve diverse students across multiple campuses
- Reliable transportation for travel between schools
Responsibilities:
- Support provision of speech-language services under supervision of a certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
- Work with students on goals related to articulation, language, fluency, and social communication
- Assist with documentation, progress monitoring, and parent/caregiver communication
- Deliver therapy sessions individually and in small groups, based on established plans
- Contribute to a positive learning atmosphere and promote student participation
- Serve one site three days per week and two other sites one day each, ensuring consistent support
