Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid SLPA license or eligibility for licensure in Virginia
- Certificate or associate degree from an accredited SLPA program
- School-based or pediatric experience is highly preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to follow therapy plans and document progress accurately
- Professionalism, flexibility, and a collaborative spirit
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct therapy sessions under the direction of a supervising Speech-Language Pathologist
- Implement individualized education program (IEP) goals for students with communication needs
- Document student progress and maintain accurate therapy records
- Support classroom teachers by providing strategies to enhance student communication
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team as needed
- Adapt activities and materials to meet diverse learning styles
