What you’ll bring:
- Valid credential as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA)
- Previous experience in a school setting supporting speech and language goals
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or equivalent, essential for this role
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families
- Creative approach to adapting activities and materials for diverse student needs
- Enthusiasm for working with middle and high school students
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting and implementing treatment plans designed by Speech Language Pathologists
- Providing direct intervention to students (individually or in small groups) in classroom, pull-out, and community-based settings
- Documenting student progress, maintaining accurate records, and reporting updates to the supervising SLP
- Collaborating with teachers and staff to create an inclusive environment
- Utilizing sign language to facilitate communication and access for students with hearing or speech challenges
