Kickstart your next contract assignment supporting elementary school students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in a vibrant educational setting near Irvine, CA. Two exciting vacancies are currently open, offering a chance to make a meaningful difference while collaborating with dedicated professionals. These roles provide the opportunity to work directly with elementary students, including those who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems.

Current schedules offer either 7 hours per day/35 hours per week or 5.75 hours per day/28.75 hours per week, with the potential for up to 30 hours weekly as approvals are finalized. Flexibility and adaptability are beneficial as assignments may shift depending on internal hiring.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Current SLPA licensure or certification meeting California requirements
  • Background working in a school-based setting, preferably with elementary-aged students
  • Comfortable supporting a caseload that includes students utilizing AAC devices; experience with AAC is strongly preferred
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with supervising SLPs, educators, and families
  • Organizational skills for managing documentation and tracking student progress

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct therapy services under the supervision of a licensed SLP, in both group and one-on-one formats
  • Assist in carrying out student IEP goals with a focus on communication development
  • Collect and maintain accurate data and service documentation
  • Adapt therapy approaches to support AAC users and various communication needs
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to a collaborative school environment
