Step into a dynamic role supporting K-12 students as an itinerant Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA). This opportunity is onsite and school-based, making an immediate difference by providing essential communication services in educational settings near John Day, OR. You'll collaborate closely with a remote supervising SLP, delivering direct support to students across multiple schools as you travel between sites—with mileage reimbursement included.
Your experience in educational environments will be invaluable as you help implement therapy plans, assist with screenings, and carry out intervention activities under professional guidance. Qualifications & Experience:
- Active SLPA license in Oregon (or reciprocity eligible)
- Previous school-based SLPA experience required
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Ability to work independently and thrive in an itinerant position
- Comfort collaborating virtually with a remote SLP
- Reliable transportation for travel between schools
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver onsite speech and language support and interventions to students as directed by the supervising SLP
- Track student progress and document session notes in accordance with school guidelines and professional standards
- Assist with conducting screenings and assessments as permitted under SLPA scope of practice
- Support teachers and staff with strategies and resources to foster students’ communication development
- Maintain effective communication between schools, the remote SLP, and other educational staff
