Key Qualifications:

  • Active licensure or certification as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA)
  • Previous experience in educational settings, preferably with middle and high school populations
  • Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) or another recognized sign language—this skill is essential for the role
  • Strong communication abilities and a supportive, student-centered approach
  • Commitment to maintaining accurate documentation and meeting student goals
  • Positive attitude, adaptability, and ability to collaborate with teachers, families, and interdisciplinary teams

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with supervising Speech Language Pathologists to deliver therapy to students with speech, language, and communication needs
  • Support students utilizing sign language, facilitating accessible communication for those with hearing impairments
  • Implement IEP (Individualized Education Plan) goals in both group and individual settings
  • Track student progress and maintain detailed records on interventions and outcomes
  • Provide resources and education to classroom staff to enhance communication supports
  • Participate in meetings and contribute valuable insights regarding student progress and communication strategies
