Step into an exciting opportunity as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant supporting middle and high school students during the upcoming academic year. This contract position offers flexibility with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week, and for those seeking a reduced workload, part-time options with approximately 30 hours per week may also be available. While you'll primarily support students on a single campus, there may be times when you assist at an additional nearby location.
The ideal candidate will bring previous experience with AAC devices, strong collaboration skills, and an enthusiasm for helping students thrive. Your caseload will range from 80 to 90 students, and the assignment will be tailored to your skill level and preferences, taking in consideration your home location.
What We’re Looking For:
- Valid professional Speech-Language Pathology Assistant licensure
- Experience working within school settings, especially at the secondary (middle or high school) level
- Familiarity with AAC devices highly desirable
- Ability to adapt and support a diverse student population
- State fingerprinting & background check compliance required
- Previous experience with the specified school district preferred (please share if you have worked with Lamar previously)
- Must provide information regarding any prior school district terminations for compliance purposes
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech-language therapy services to students, under supervision of a licensed SLP
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support communication goals
- Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Document progress and maintain accurate records
- Flexibly travel between assigned campuses as needed
