School-Based Speech Language Pathologist Assistant - Midlothian, Virginia

Qualifications:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or equivalent
• Valid licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in Virginia, or eligible for licensure
• Previous experience in a school environment or working with children preferred
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability to follow therapy plans and instructional guidance from supervising SLPs
• Passion for empowering students with communication challenges

Responsibilities:

• Assist with carrying out speech and language therapy sessions under the direction of a certified Speech-Language Pathologist
• Implement individualized education program (IEP) goals and therapy activities as assigned
• Document student progress and maintain accurate records
• Support generalization of therapy strategies into the classroom and daily school routines
• Provide instructional and clerical support, including preparation of therapy materials
• Participate in school team meetings when appropriate and communicate effectively with staff and families
