In this role, you'll collaborate with certified Speech-Language Pathologists and educational professionals to implement therapy plans and support student achievement.
Qualifications / Experience:
- Active state licensure and certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
- Previous experience working with children or students in a school setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of IEPs and the therapy process in educational environments
- Ability to adapt and respond to diverse student needs
- Reliability and organizational skills for managing a full caseload
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
- Support students with speech, language, and communication challenges within school settings
- Assist in the preparation and organization of therapy materials and documentation
- Collect data and maintain progress notes on student performance
- Participate in team meetings to discuss student progress and adjust therapeutic approaches
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and families to help meet students’ communication goals
