This school-based, contract role is perfect for a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) passionate about helping children thrive through innovative and compassionate care. The assignment starts March 16, 2026, right before Spring Break (March 23–27), providing a chance to make a real impact from day one.
In this itinerant position, you’ll travel between school sites throughout the district, assisting students who utilize AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices. You’ll be supported by experienced supervision, and weekly travel between locations is typically 40-50 miles, with mileage reimbursement provided.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Current, valid SLPA certification and state licensure
- Experience in a school setting is a plus
- Knowledge of AAC device use and supporting communication for diverse learners
- Strong organizational and time management skills for itinerant work
- Ability to collaborate professionally with supervising SLPs and team members
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for students
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct intervention to students as directed by supervising SLP
- Implement communication strategies and therapy plans, emphasizing AAC device usage
- Document progress and maintain student records in compliance with district guidelines
- Travel between school sites as scheduled, ensuring services are delivered consistently
- Communicate regularly with the team and contribute to student support meetings
