In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with supervising SLPs and educational staff, using your expertise to help students overcome communication barriers and thrive in a supportive, structured environment. Your skills with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices will empower students who need additional resources to express themselves and participate fully in their education.
Qualifications:
- Valid SLPA license or certification
- Experience working in both school and healthcare settings
- Direct AAC experience required
- Previous caseloads with behavioral or alternative school populations is highly valued
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
- Compassion and adaptability in fast-paced or challenging environments
Key responsibilities:
- Implement speech and language therapy goals as outlined by supervising SLP
- Support students using various AAC devices and communication tools
- Work 1:1 and in small groups with a behavioral caseload
- Document ongoing progress and participate in IEP meetings as requested
- Collaborate with teachers and behavioral specialists to foster positive outcomes
- Provide a safe, respectful, and supportive atmosphere for all students
