Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid licensure/certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and another language (Spanish preferred, but all languages considered)
  • Experience or training working in a school-based setting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, SLPs, families, and students
  • Compassionate, patient, and culturally sensitive mindset

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the Speech-Language Pathologist by providing direct services to students under supervision
  • Assist in screening, assessment, and documentation processes
  • Implement therapy activities tailored to individual and group student needs
  • Adapt materials and activities to support bilingual learners and diverse communication needs
  • Participate in staff meetings, IEP planning, and professional development as assigned
  • Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and related paperwork
  • Serve as a language model and facilitate communication between school staff, students, and families
