Take your Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) skills to the next level in a rewarding educational environment! A contract assignment is available for a qualified SLPA seeking to make a positive impact on students in the Baltimore area, with work based near Parkville, MD. In this full-time, onsite position you’ll be supporting students' communication development in a school-based setting for the 2026–2027 academic year, running from September to June.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current, active Maryland SLPA license (proof of licensure required)
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred
- Knowledge of IEPs, student documentation, progress tracking, and therapy protocols
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to complete and pass district-specific background check/fingerprinting (per House Bill 486) and employment history review
- Adaptable, flexible, and comfortable working with diverse student populations and age groups
Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language support under the supervision of a licensed SLP
- Assist with direct and indirect student therapy sessions
- Support the planning and implementation of treatment programs and lesson plans
- Maintain accurate records, including student attendance and progress notes
- Participate in team meetings and parent conferences as needed
- Travel between assigned schools may be necessary
- Comply with all district policies, credential and licensure requirements, and best practices in care
You’ll be part of a professional, collaborative atmosphere with a clear schedule: 37.5 hours per week, onsite, following the school year calendar. Interview and credentialing processes are time-sensitive—candidates should be ready to provide all required documentation promptly.
