Qualifications and Experience:

  • Holds current Alabama SLPA certification and ABSESPA licensure
  • Possesses valid Professional Educator Certification
  • ASHA certification required
  • Must meet Alabama-specific requirements for SLPAs, including fingerprinting and any additional mandated licensure
  • Prior experience in school settings is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication, organization, and documentation abilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct therapy services to students, following individualized education plans under the supervision of certified Speech Language Pathologists
  • Collaborate with educators and families to support student progress
  • Document sessions, monitor student development, and support data-driven interventions
  • Adapt speech therapy techniques for diverse learning needs and environments
  • Attend staff meetings, IEP reviews, and ongoing professional development, as required
