Key Experience and Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Speech Language Pathologist Assistant program
- Valid SLPA licensure for the state of Virginia, or eligibility to obtain
- Previous experience supporting speech and language services in a school environment preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Compassion, patience, and dedication to helping students succeed
- Ability to adapt to the unique needs of an educational setting
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist Speech Language Pathologists in implementing treatment plans tailored to individual student needs
- Work directly with students in group and one-on-one settings to facilitate speech and language exercises
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records
- Support classroom teachers and educational staff by providing strategies for communication success
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to progress reports as requested
- Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal regulations
- Foster a positive, encouraging environment for students and their families
