Position Overview

We are seeking a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support students in grades 6-12 across multiple charter school campuses in the Milwaukee area. This position will work under the supervision of a virtual Speech-Language Pathologist and offers flexibility, with certain administrative and preparation tasks able to be completed remotely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide speech and language therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Implement therapy programs and student goals as directed by the supervising SLP.
  • Support students with a variety of communication needs.
  • Collect data and document student progress.
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and related service providers.
  • Assist with therapy materials, scheduling, and administrative responsibilities.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation.

Caseload

  • Grades 6-12
  • Approximately 34-42 students
  • Services provided across 2-4 charter school campuses

Qualifications Required

  • Active Wisconsin SLPA credentials as required by state regulations.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a remote supervising SLP.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Reliable transportation for travel between campuses.

Preferred

  • Previous school-based experience.
  • Experience working with middle and high school students.
  • Familiarity with data collection and therapy documentation.
  • Experience supporting students with diverse communication needs.

Work Environment

  • Hybrid flexibility for certain indirect and administrative tasks.
  • Travel required between assigned campuses.
  • Most campus travel is within approximately 30 minutes of the Milwaukee area.
  • Virtual supervision provided by a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
