Qualifications and Skills:

  • Active SLPA license or certification as required for school settings
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as an SLPA, preferably working with school-age children or adolescents
  • Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL); sign language skills are an essential requirement
  • Understanding of IEPs, therapy documentation, and collaboration in multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong interpersonal communication and organizational abilities
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of a diverse student population in middle and high school environments

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and indirect speech-language therapy services under the supervision of a licensed SLP
  • Support students in both individual and group sessions—many utilizing sign language to foster communication
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and family members to ensure consistency of care and facilitate progress
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation and progress reports as required
  • Assist in developing materials and resources to enhance student engagement
