Desired Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting (or commensurate education)
  • Valid SLPA license or eligibility for licensure in Virginia
  • Previous experience in a school setting is preferred, but motivated new graduates are welcome to apply
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
  • Compassionate approach to working with children from diverse backgrounds
  • Able to follow supervision and implement treatment plans effectively

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with licensed SLPs to implement therapy plans
  • Assist with direct therapy sessions, documenting progress and supporting student goals
  • Prepare therapy materials and maintain organized records
  • Support Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and participate in team meetings as needed
  • Foster a positive, inclusive therapy environment that encourages student engagement and progress
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and families regarding student communication needs
