This contract opportunity offers 35 hours per week working primarily with elementary students in a setting that serves a higher Special Education population. Key Qualifications:
- Associate's degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or equivalent
- Valid SLPA licensure for the state of California
- Experience supporting students in schools or healthcare settings, especially with special education populations
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Compassion and patience working with diverse student backgrounds
- Ability to follow direction from supervising SLP and adapt to various student needs
Responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language interventions as directed by a licensed SLP
- Support individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with higher needs
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and session notes
- Collaborate with educators and school staff to foster student communication development
- Prepare materials and activities to support engagement and learning
- Assist the SLP with assessments, as appropriate
- Help create a positive, supportive classroom environment
