A rewarding contract opportunity awaits professionals who are passionate about supporting middle and high school students as a School-Based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA). This position offers a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week, with consideration for part-time candidates (approximately 30 hours a week), and begins on August 11, 2026, lasting through May 26, 2027. Primarily based at a single school, occasional floating to a second location may be necessary. The caseload typically averages 80-90 students and incorporates varying skill levels, with assignments influenced by where the candidate resides.
Key Qualifications:
- Active, valid SLPA license required
- Prior experience in a school setting, with preference for work at the secondary level (middle/high school)
- Familiarity and demonstrated experience with AAC devices are highly valued
- State-mandated background check and fingerprinting required
- Commitment to ethical standards and professional conduct
- Reliability and adaptability for potential assignments at one or two school sites
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and indirect speech-language services to assigned caseload of secondary students
- Collaborate effectively with supervising SLPs, teachers, and staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Support students in developing communication skills using various modalities, including AAC systems
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation and progress records in compliance with district standards
- Participate in necessary meetings and ongoing professional development
