Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in a dynamic school environment near Rumford, ME. Key Qualifications:
- Active SLPA license/certification in the state of Maine (or eligibility to obtain prior to start)
- Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred, but not required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, SLPs, and other support staff
- Comfortable working with children and adolescents from diverse backgrounds
- Reliable, organized, and flexible in adapting to changing student needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language support services under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
- Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with speech and language needs
- Track student progress and contribute accurate data for review and documentation
- Support classroom teachers with strategies for integrating speech/language activities
- Engage and motivate students, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and family members regarding progress
