Are you a dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students? Position Overview
As a School-Based SLPA, you'll provide direct speech and language therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. You'll collaborate with educators, families, and school staff to support students with a variety of communication needs in a positive and rewarding educational environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services as outlined in students' IEPs under the supervision of an SLP
- Implement treatment plans and therapy activities developed by the supervising SLP
- Collect and document student progress toward therapy goals
- Assist with screenings, observations, and therapy preparation
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to support student success
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with school and state guidelines
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program
- Current Maine SLPA license (or eligibility to obtain)
- Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Passion for helping children reach their full potential
