Position Overview

As a School-Based SLPA, you'll provide direct speech and language therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. You'll collaborate with educators, families, and school staff to support students with a variety of communication needs in a positive and rewarding educational environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct speech and language therapy services as outlined in students' IEPs under the supervision of an SLP
• Implement treatment plans and therapy activities developed by the supervising SLP
• Collect and document student progress toward therapy goals
• Assist with screenings, observations, and therapy preparation
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to support student success
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with school and state guidelines

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program
• Current Maine SLPA license (or eligibility to obtain)
• Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Passion for helping children reach their full potential
