As an SLPA, you’ll support students in reaching their communication goals while growing your professional skills under the guidance of a virtual Speech-Language Pathologist. This collaborative role allows you to play a vital part in students’ daily learning experiences and development.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current licensure/certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
- Prior experience or strong interest in supporting children within a school setting
- Familiarity with IEP processes and student documentation preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to follow direction and collaborate effectively with virtual SLP supervision
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy services to students as outlined in IEPs, following session guidelines and treatment plans provided by the supervising SLP
- Collect data and maintain accurate records on student progress and attendance
- Assist with preparation of materials and activities to enhance therapy sessions
- Communicate updates and collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary team members
- Participate in scheduled supervision sessions with the virtual SLP to ensure consistent support and professional growth
