Step into a meaningful contract opportunity working alongside dedicated education professionals as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) or Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). This position begins in August and covers a 3-4 month maternity leave, providing essential support to students in a dynamic educational environment close to San Jose and Palo Alto, California.
Key Qualifications:
- Active California licensure as an SLPA or SLP
- Previous experience in a school setting strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of speech and language disorders affecting school-age children
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families
- Collaborative spirit, ready to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and indirect speech-language therapy services under supervision (for SLPAs)
- Assist with evaluation, development, and implementation of individualized treatment plans and IEP goals
- Document students’ progress and maintain case notes as required by district policies
- Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to reinforce strategies within the classroom
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to IEP processes as needed
- Maintain ethical and professional standards in all interactions
