Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active SLPA certification or licensure in Tennessee (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Experience or strong interest in working with children in school settings
  • Familiarity with implementing speech therapy treatment plans created by a supervising SLP
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Adaptable and responsive to the needs of diverse student populations

Core Responsibilities:

  • Carry out individual and group therapy activities as directed by the supervising SLP
  • Assist with screening, assessment, and documentation, adhering to established protocols
  • Support the development and use of communication strategies for students
  • Track and report student progress, maintaining accurate records and complying with confidentiality guidelines
  • Participate in IEP meetings, staff collaboration, and share observations as needed
  • Work collaboratively to adapt activities and materials for student engagement
  • Communicate regularly with teachers, parents, and therapy teams to ensure consistent support
