Bring your passion for helping students succeed as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in this contract role supporting local schools near Sevierville, TN. As a valued SLPA, you’ll work closely with licensed Speech-Language Pathologists to deliver essential therapeutic services, help children improve their communication skills, and play a vital part in their academic and social growth.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid SLPA license in Tennessee (or eligible to obtain)
- Previous experience assisting with speech and language services in an educational or pediatric setting preferred
- Familiarity with implementing treatment plans, documenting student progress, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication, organization, and record-keeping abilities
- Compassionate approach and desire to make a difference in students’ lives
Responsibilities Include:
- Support SLPs in conducting therapy sessions, following established treatment plans for students with speech and language needs
- Assist with screenings, assessments, and the development of individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Document session notes and progress, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
- Engage with teachers, families, and staff to promote effective communication strategies in the classroom
- Participate in team meetings and professional development as needed
