Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) or Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) supporting students for a 3-4 month maternity leave. This position begins in August and is located within a vibrant school community near Sunnyvale and Palo Alto, CA. Make a positive impact by helping students develop vital communication skills during a key phase in their education.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid SLPA license or SLP credentials in California
  • Experience supporting children or adolescents in school-based settings
  • Strong collaboration skills to consult and partner with educators, families, and school teams
  • Ability to adapt to diverse student needs and individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and fostering a positive learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with students individually or in small groups to address speech and language goals
  • Deliver speech interventions as directed by supervising SLP
  • Support classroom teachers with strategies for communication support
  • Collect and organize data for progress monitoring
  • Assist in preparing therapy materials and maintaining documentation
  • Participate in IEP meetings as needed and communicate progress with educational teams and families
  • Adapt therapy activities to meet diverse learning styles and cultural backgrounds
