This school-based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) or Clinical Fellow (SLP-CF) opportunity offers the chance to make a tangible difference in the lives of students, focusing on communication, independence, and skill development in a nurturing environment. The assignment is based primarily in Ludlow, MA, within a specialized Compass High Program located at Ludlow High School.
Key Candidate Qualifications:
- Valid state licensure or certification for SLPA or eligibility as an SLP-CF, in accordance with all state requirements
- Demonstrated experience working in school settings, particularly with high school-aged students
- Strong proficiency with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices
- Passion for supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other diverse learning profiles
- Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and collaboration skills to promote student success
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to high school students within a specialized program setting
- Support and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) and collaborate closely with a dynamic interdisciplinary team
- Utilize and implement AAC devices and strategies to enhance student communication
- Participate actively in program planning, student progress monitoring, and team meetings
- Document progress and maintain detailed records in accordance with school and state guidelines
Assignment Features:
- 32.5 hours per week, aligning with the academic calendar from late August to late June (exact dates may vary based on final school year release)
