Speech Language Pathologist Assistant in West Springfield, MA

This school-based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) or Clinical Fellow (SLP-CF) opportunity offers the chance to make a tangible difference in the lives of students, focusing on communication, independence, and skill development in a nurturing environment. The assignment is based primarily in Ludlow, MA, within a specialized Compass High Program located at Ludlow High School.

Key Candidate Qualifications:

• Valid state licensure or certification for SLPA or eligibility as an SLP-CF, in accordance with all state requirements
• Demonstrated experience working in school settings, particularly with high school-aged students
• Strong proficiency with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices
• Passion for supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other diverse learning profiles
• Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and collaboration skills to promote student success

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct speech and language therapy services to high school students within a specialized program setting
• Support and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) and collaborate closely with a dynamic interdisciplinary team
• Utilize and implement AAC devices and strategies to enhance student communication
• Participate actively in program planning, student progress monitoring, and team meetings
• Document progress and maintain detailed records in accordance with school and state guidelines

Assignment Features:
