Apply NowStep into a meaningful role supporting high school students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for the full academic year. This is a rewarding, in-person opportunity to make a direct impact within a day treatment program, working closely with a vibrant community of learners.
You’ll work with a manageable caseload of approximately 20 students, each with unique and diverse communication profiles. Your expertise in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) will be key as you collaborate on individualized treatment plans, implement communication supports, and help students achieve their fullest potential in an empathetic, educational setting.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current SLPA certification required
- Previous experience as a SLPA in a school-based setting
- Strong AAC knowledge and hands-on experience with various devices and applications
- Comfortable working with high school students with a wide range of communication abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech-language therapy services to high school students as outlined in their IEPs
- Assist in AAC device implementation, training, and support for students and staff
- Document student progress, maintaining up-to-date records and data collection
- Collaborate closely with supervising SLP, classroom teachers, and support staff to foster consistent, effective communication environments
- Provide ongoing communication support and strategies to students throughout the school day
