This position centers around the Compass High Program, a specialized educational setting designed to foster student growth toward independence. You’ll work primarily within a high school environment, providing consistent support over the course of the 2026-2027 academic year.
Key Qualifications:
- Active state credentials for SLPA or SLP-CF roles (required)
- Experience working in school settings, especially with high school-age populations
- High proficiency with AAC devices, including implementation and training
- Passion for supporting students with ASD or similar learning differences
- Strong communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams
- Flexibility and compassion to adapt to unique student needs in nontraditional classroom settings
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative speech-language services to high school students in the Compass Program
- Incorporate AAC devices into student programming, conducting training for both students and staff
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and collaborate with educators, support staff, and families
- Track progress and maintain thorough documentation according to state and district guidelines
- Support social and communication skill-building to promote independence in students
The school year is set from late August 2026 to late June 2027, with a consistent schedule of 32.5 hours weekly. This contract allows you to make a lasting impact in a collaborative and supportive setting, where your specialized skills in AAC and speech-language services are highly valued.
