School Speech Language Pathologist Assistant - Westfield, Massachusetts

Step into a dynamic, contract-based opportunity supporting high school students in an innovative program dedicated to personalized learning for those on the Autism Spectrum or with other learning differences. This position centers around the Compass High Program, a specialized educational setting designed to foster student growth toward independence. You’ll work primarily within a high school environment, providing consistent support over the course of the 2026-2027 academic year.

Key Qualifications:

• Active state credentials for SLPA or SLP-CF roles (required)
• Experience working in school settings, especially with high school-age populations
• High proficiency with AAC devices, including implementation and training
• Passion for supporting students with ASD or similar learning differences
• Strong communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams
• Flexibility and compassion to adapt to unique student needs in nontraditional classroom settings

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and consultative speech-language services to high school students in the Compass Program
• Incorporate AAC devices into student programming, conducting training for both students and staff
• Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and collaborate with educators, support staff, and families
• Track progress and maintain thorough documentation according to state and district guidelines
• Support social and communication skill-building to promote independence in students

The school year is set from late August 2026 to late June 2027, with a consistent schedule of 32.5 hours weekly. This contract allows you to make a lasting impact in a collaborative and supportive setting, where your specialized skills in AAC and speech-language services are highly valued.
