Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid SLPA license or certification in the state of Virginia
  • Experience working in a school setting, particularly with special education populations
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of speech and language development in children and adolescents
  • Ability to work effectively under the direction of a Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Commitment to supporting diverse learners in a day school environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) under SLP supervision
  • Provide direct and indirect speech-language services to students in group and one-on-one settings
  • Document and maintain accurate records of student progress
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and staff to support student communication goals
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development as needed
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning atmosphere
