Seeking an experienced and passionate school social worker for a fulfilling contract opportunity supporting students in the 2026-2027 academic year. This is a full-time, temporary position designed to cover a maternity leave, beginning in October. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in school-based social work settings and possess strong communication and advocacy skills.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active full certification for school social work (please submit certification with your application)
- Previous experience as a social worker in educational environments
- Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and conflict resolution abilities
- Adept at maintaining confidentiality and ethical professional boundaries
- Ability to manage caseloads, prioritize tasks, and support a diverse student population
- Familiarity with current best practices in counseling, crisis intervention, and family engagement
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide direct counseling, crisis intervention, and support services for students during the maternity leave coverage period
- Collaborate with educators, families, and interdisciplinary teams to promote student well-being and academic success
- Conduct assessments, develop intervention plans, and participate in IEP/504 meetings as needed
- Support students in developing social-emotional skills and connect families to relevant community resources
- Maintain accurate and timely records in compliance with district and legal requirements
- Foster a welcoming, supportive school climate for all students
