Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work is required.
  • Valid SSW-310 Authorization for School Social Work or MDE School Social Worker Credential.
  • Extensive understanding of K-12 developmental and behavioral needs.
  • Experience working in school-based or educational settings strongly preferred.
  • Outstanding communication, problem-solving, and crisis intervention abilities.
  • Dedication to upholding all ethical and professional standards for school social work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct counseling, intervention, and support to students and families.
  • Address social, emotional, and behavioral barriers to learning for K-12 students.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to design intervention strategies.
  • Participate in child study teams, IEP meetings, and multi-disciplinary conferences as needed.
  • Maintain thorough documentation, case notes, and confidentiality in all professional matters.
  • Connect families with community resources and support services.
