Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure or eligibility as a School Social Worker
- Experience working within school settings (elementary, middle, or high school)
- Strong skills in counseling, crisis intervention, and building rapport with students from diverse backgrounds
- Knowledge of IEP processes and special education services is highly desirable
- Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork abilities
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide social, emotional, and behavioral support to students individually and in small groups
- Assess students’ needs and develop intervention plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Support the implementation of IEPs and 504 plans, including attending meetings as required
- Engage with families, school staff, and community partners to coordinate support services
- Conduct crisis intervention, risk assessments, and referrals as needed
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of services and progress
