School Social Worker in Aurora, CO

This full-time, onsite school social work position offers the opportunity to engage with diverse student populations, supporting them from early childhood education through high school. Serving two assigned schools within the Denver metro, you will provide mental health services, address barriers to learning, and collaborate with school teams to create supportive environments.

Key Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution
• Active Colorado Special Service Provider license for School Social Worker (birth-21)
• Minimum of three years’ experience as a school social worker
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with educators, administration, and families
• Strong assessment, counseling, and case management skills
• Commitment to completing the full academic year
• Must pass district background and fingerprinting requirements

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver mental health support to students, addressing concerns impacting academic achievement, socialization, or behavior
• Conduct student assessments to identify counseling or support needs and develop interventions
• Refer students and families to external agencies when necessary to address economic, emotional, or physical challenges
• Maintain thorough documentation of student progress, case notes, and interventions
• Facilitate communication among students, families, teachers, and administrators, offering a holistic approach to problem-solving
• Lead or participate in workshops focused on student remediation and well-being
• Support district-wide initiatives to improve attendance, engagement, and student outcomes

The contract runs ASAP through the end of the academic year in late May. Assignments cover either ECE through high school or middle and early childhood, depending on placement.
