Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) with a school social worker endorsement (required)
- Experience working specifically within a school environment supporting diverse student populations
- Strong understanding of social work best practices, particularly with students requiring communication supports
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Please note: This position is not open to school counselors; a school social worker background is essential
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and indirect social work services to students in the Communication Development Program across two school locations
- Manage a caseload of three classrooms (fewer than 30 students total), tailoring support strategies to unique student needs
- Collaborate regularly with teachers, therapists, families, and staff to support student progress and foster an inclusive learning environment
- Conduct assessments, develop intervention plans, and help implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) as required
- Provide counseling, crisis intervention, and ongoing support to promote student mental health and positive social skills
