Make a difference in the lives of students for the upcoming 26/27 school year as a Bilingual Social Worker. In this part-time, contract role, you’ll use your expertise to support English/Spanish bilingual students with IEPs, contribute to general education bilingual programs, and offer additional assistance within the school environment as needed. Working just 1-2 days per week (up to 14 hours), you’ll have the flexibility to balance your professional and personal commitments while making a positive impact.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Active Illinois School Social Worker license required
- Proficiency in both English and Spanish (bilingual skills essential)
- Previous experience in a school or healthcare social work setting preferred
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload with professionalism and empathy
- Strong communication, collaboration, and case management skills
- Understanding of IEP processes and experience working with students with special needs is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized social work services to bilingual students with IEPs
- Collaborate with general education staff to support bilingual programming
- Consult with teachers, administrators, and families to address students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Serve as a resource for crisis intervention, student advocacy, and resource referrals
- Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to IEP meetings as required
