Step into a dynamic contract role providing essential support as a School Social Worker for the 26/27 school year! This full-time opportunity is specifically designed to cover a maternity leave, with hours set from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm, running from August 7, 2026, through October 26, 2026. You'll work directly with a manageable caseload of 40 students, delivering social-emotional guidance and supporting their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals in a supportive school environment near Aurora, IL.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement
- Previous experience as a school social worker, ideally in an educational setting
- Solid understanding of IEP processes, documentation, and implementation
- Exceptional communication skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and faculty
- Ability to provide compassionate, confidential support tailored to each student’s needs
- Strong time management skills to meet scheduled student minutes and adhere to deadlines
- Team-oriented mindset, willingness to collaborate with multidisciplinary staff
Primary Responsibilities:
- Fulfill all maternity leave coverage duties by conducting scheduled meetings with students in accordance with their IEP minutes
- Deliver direct social-emotional and behavioral support to assigned students
- Document student progress and maintain accurate, timely records
- Work collaboratively with teachers, counselors, and administration to coordinate services
- Communicate clearly with families regarding student needs and progress
- Participate in team meetings and support IEP development and review as needed
