This position is located near Aurora, IL, serving as a crucial support for students and staff during a leave coverage period.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active PEL (Professional Educator License) required
  • Previous experience as a social worker in a school setting strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to connect and communicate effectively with high school students
  • Understanding of adolescent development and challenges faced by high school populations
  • Strong skills in crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and collaborative problem-solving
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and build trusting relationships with students, families, and staff

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct social-emotional and behavioral support services to high school students
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to identify student needs and offer proactive interventions
  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address issues such as attendance, peer relationships, family challenges, or academic stress
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote positive school climate and student well-being
  • Participate in student support team meetings and contribute to individualized education plans when needed
  • Document interventions, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with all school and district protocols

Details:

  • Full-time contract role covering a leave position from August 10th to September 18th
  • Hours are 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM, with a 50-minute unpaid lunch break each day
  • Work directly with a dynamic high school student population
