Step into a role supporting the well-being and social-emotional development of elementary students in a welcoming, growth-oriented school environment. This is a full-time, onsite contract position working with a diverse caseload of approximately 25 elementary students, as well as providing direct push-in services for special education classrooms. The assignment begins as soon as possible and runs through October 2, 2026.
Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Illinois School Social Worker (SSW) license
- Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement required
- Demonstrated experience working in school settings
- Ability to provide both individual support and classroom-based interventions
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach
- Capacity to work onsite full-time; virtual/remote work is not available
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct social work services to students in alignment with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Conduct group and individual counseling sessions addressing academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, support staff, and special education teams to foster a positive learning environment
- Provide push-in social work support within special education classrooms, adapting strategies as needed
- Serve as a resource for crisis intervention and family outreach when required
- Maintain accurate documentation, write reports, and participate in IEP meetings
