Key Qualifications:
- Current state license as a social worker
- Social work experience in elementary and/or middle school environments
- Certification specific to school-based social work (if required by state)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to advocating for student well-being, equity, and positive school climate
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct counseling and intervention services for students facing academic, social, or emotional difficulties
- Conduct assessments to help identify student and family needs
- Develop and implement support plans and appropriate interventions
- Participate in student assistance teams, collaborating with teachers, counselors, administrators, and families
- Facilitate group sessions and classroom presentations on social-emotional topics
- Connect students and families with community resources and outside agencies as needed
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with school and regulatory guidelines
