School-Based Social Worker - Barrington, Illinois

Bring your expertise to a school-based setting dedicated to the development and well-being of students in the Woodstock, IL area. Two contract opportunities are now available for passionate, resourceful Social Workers eager to make a difference this school year and beyond.

Position 1 supports elementary-aged children (1st–5th grade) in a setting that includes both general population and students in a self-contained Emotional Disability (ED) classroom. This role requires crisis management skills and the ability to implement both group and one-on-one counseling sessions. The workday runs from 7:10 AM to 2:05 PM, offering a focused and rewarding schedule.

Position 2 is situated in a day therapeutic ED environment serving grades K–7, working with approximately 30 students. Responsibilities include crisis intervention, facilitating both group and individual counseling, and supporting a mix of self-contained and general education students. The working hours are Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM.

Both positions offer a pay range of $45–$55 per hour, and the assignments run through the end of the school year (May 20th, 2027), with the possibility of extension.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Master’s degree in social work (MSW) required
• Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker Endorsement
• Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred
• Strong crisis management, intervention, and counseling skills
• Comfortable working with both ED/self-contained classrooms and general education populations

Responsibilities:

• Provide social-emotional support through individual and group counseling
• Intervene in crises; develop student management strategies
• Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families
• Assist with IEPs and multidisciplinary teams as needed
