Social Worker | Belding, Michigan

This contract role offers the opportunity to serve approximately 40 students across two elementary schools and a preschool classroom, working exclusively onsite during the academic year. As a dedicated professional, you’ll foster positive change by addressing students’ social, emotional, and academic needs through targeted interventions and collaborative strategies.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid approval from the Michigan Department of Education as a School Social Worker
• Demonstrated experience working in school settings with elementary-age children
• Strong understanding of child development, trauma-informed care, and behavioral supports
• Exceptional communication skills for engaging with students, educators, and families
• Ability to manage a dynamic caseload and prioritize student support needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct social work services and assessments within two elementary schools and a preschool classroom
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to design and implement individualized support plans
• Conduct small group and one-on-one interventions addressing academic, social, and emotional challenges
• Maintain clear and confidential documentation of student progress and interventions
• Provide crisis intervention, advocacy, and resource referrals to students and families
• Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings to ensure holistic support for each student
