Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
- Valid professional license as a School Social Worker
- Previous experience working with children and adolescents in educational settings is highly preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to assess students and implement evidence-based interventions
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding student welfare and special education
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify students in need of intervention
- Develop and implement individualized support plans for students facing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges
- Work closely with teachers, counselors, and families to foster a safe, supportive learning atmosphere
- Provide short-term counseling and crisis intervention as needed
- Serve as a liaison between the school, home, and community resources
- Document student progress and maintain confidential records in compliance with school policies
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and provide input on student care plans
