Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure as a School Social Worker
- Previous experience working in K-12 school environments
- Strong crisis intervention and counseling abilities
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
- Knowledge of Individualized Education Plans (IEP) process preferred
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct counseling and intervention services to students experiencing emotional or behavioral difficulties
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to design and implement strategies that foster student success
- Conduct assessments, collect data, and support the development of IEPs and 504 plans
- Deliver classroom presentations and group sessions on relevant social/emotional topics
- Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and community resources
- Advocate for students and their right to a supportive and inclusive school environment
- Document interventions and progress while maintaining confidential records
